This high-grade timber clad Wee House is situated on the delightful Isle of Lewis, beautifully complimenting the picturesque surrounding rugged landscape.

Louise & Matthew were delighted with the design and build of their first Wee House, a holiday let on the stunning Isle of Lewis and so returned to The Wee House Company, this time to build their forever home, again located on Lewis.

This Wee House is a two bedroom bespoke design with a separate art studio and WC, with it’s own discrete entrance. Going with a bespoke design allowed Louise and Matthew to tailor their space to their specific needs. The hallway is utilised as an office area, offering stunning views of the rugged landscape.

“Planning and designing with TWHC is fun and exciting. They were very encouraging (and patient!) with us trying out various design ideas and working hand in hand providing information and suggestions to arrive at the perfect house design for our needs”.

Louise and Matthew chose The Wee House Company as they wanted a substantial and well-designed house built in a relatively remote location, in the simplest and stress-free manner possible. The couple looked at other modular house suppliers and also the architect-lead contractor route, but these all proved to be partial solutions/packages and fraught with complications rather than the complete turnkey solution that The Wee House Company offered. The fixed price contract was also a real selling point as they wanted to know exactly how much the entire build would cost from starting point to completion.

The couple were particularly impressed with the speed of the build process. They wanted to move into their forever home within one year of signing the contract  – an achievement met by The Wee House Company. In fact, they have built two Wee Houses within the space of three years… while watching other builds in the area linger on part build for years being exposed to heavy rain and storms.

“The on-site build process always surprised – the efficiency and professionalism of the team was great. The whole process only took a few weeks which amazed local people here. The team were very considerate of local people making sure none of their vehicles or plant ever caused road blockages or damage”.

The interior of this Wee House is simply stunning, unique and stylish and it oozes the personality of it’s owners and truly captivates you from every angle. Louise and Matthew are delighted with their forever home “We can’t stop grinning from ear to ear at the fact WE ACTUALLY LIVE HERE”.
