A thumbs up from four-year-old, Ellis as first modules arrive on site
First modules arrive at affordable housing development in Stevenston, North Ayrshire with a thumbs up from 4 year old, Ellis
The first two amenity bungalows, built by Connect Modular, part of The Wee House Group, have been delivered to the six-home development in Stevenston, North Ayrshire.
The important milestone was reached this week as the modules arrived on site and were craned into place, making up the first two homes in the development.
The residents of Stevenston are enjoying seeing the progress of the affordable development but no-one more so than our very own junior apprentice, four-year-old, Ellis. A resident in Stevenston, Ellis attends site most days with his mum, where he enjoys watching the diggers, tractors and cranes and was delighted to see the first two homes being craned into position this week. Adorned with his hard hat and hi-viz vest, Ellis looks forward to progressing to digger driver in the very near future.
Connect Modular is working with North Ayrshire Council to deliver these much-needed affordable, accessible houses in Stevenston. This new development is North Ayrshire Council’s second modular housing project with Connect Modular.
Richard Reid, Acting CEO, Comments: “We’re delighted to have delivered the first two houses at this development for North Ayrshire Council. Delivery of the remaining four homes is scheduled over the next few months and we look forward to handing over the houses for occupancy this summer.”
Councillor Tony Gurney, Cabinet Member for Place at North Ayrshire Council, said: “It’s wonderful to see the new homes being erected at Afton Court, Stevenston, bringing further modern and energy-efficient amenity housing to the area. The innovative process to build the homes in Connect Modular’s Ayrshire factory setting before being erected on site shows we are embracing new ways to deliver homes for our residents. And, by assembling the homes off site, it also means less disruption to neighbours.”
