  • What aftercare is required on a Wee House?

Every home requires a level of care and maintenance to keep it in top shape. Here are some of the things you should do to help keep your Wee House in optimum condition:

Read the manuals – Every appliance and system provided in your Wee House has a manufacturers owner’s manual which will be supplied to you when you move in. You should read each one to know how to properly keep your Wee House in good working order.

Gutters – Gutters should be cleaned out at least once per year to remove debris and leaves.

Roof – The standard corrugated roof finish on a Wee House is guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years however it is good practise to inspect your roof on an annual basis to ensure it is in sound condition.

Exterior – The timber on the outer walls is high grade larch. This is a very durable building timber, even when untreated. We use a paint finish to give the Wee House a very traditional look and enable customers to customise the colours to suit their location. We recommend that customers repaint the outside of their Wee House 1-2 years after moving in and then every 4 years after that. This is a guide only; the exact amount of time between painting will vary depending on the location of the site.

  • What is the snagging procedure?
  • Will there be inconvenience or mess?

Our Wee Houses and the service we provide have been specifically designed to make the process as hassle-free for you as possible.

Your Wee House is built in modules in our factory. On-site completion then just takes three weeks. Our workforce also has a great reputation for being very pleasant, tidy and accommodating.

  • Will the road in my street have to be closed for delivery of my Wee House?

Module delivery can usually be carried out without disruption to others. If a road closure is required, our team will advise of this and handle the application for the required road closure permits.

  • How is my Wee House delivered?

Your Wee House is delivered completed up to ceiling height in modules; the number of which is determined by the size of your house. The modules are delivered by lorry to your plot where they are then craned into position.

  • Can I use my own tradespeople for part of the job, for example, creation of foundations or service connections?

One of the benefits of using The Wee House Company is that we manage the whole project, from start to finish. This means you end up with a stress-free custom build home that is on time and on budget.

We are able to offer this service and stick to your budget because we can control the process from start to finish, working within very particular timescales.
