Revealed: Our Brand New Wee House in Lismore
This timber-clad modular home features two bedrooms and a luxuriously sized wet-room with walk in shower and wall hung sanitary ware. The open-plan kitchen lounge area is enhanced with triple glazed sliding doors looking out onto a 24 sq m decked patio area with full surround glass balustrade, allowing the residents to enjoy the peaceful rural surroundings in a sheltered space. The three panel bi-fold doors, span the full width of the north east elevation and flood the living space with natural light.
Every inch of this 90.5 sq m dwelling has been maximised to provide its residents with an enviable amount of storage space including a floor to ceiling height pantry, a large walk-in cupboard and a walk-in store with bespoke surround shelving. The porch area features upper shelving, coat hooks and a purpose-built bench with concealed storage. Adjacent to the porch is a utility room with wall units, worktop washing machine and tumble dryer. Throughout the house there are three more ‘stores’ complete with in-built shelving and motion sensor lighting.
The lucky owners of this Wee House are Roger and Gilly, a husband-and-wife team who run a holistic farming business on the Isle of Lismore alongside two holiday cottage rentals. This interest, coupled with their passion for regenerative agriculture and desire to increase biodiversity and habitat for wildlife in the local area, meant it was hugely important the construction of the property did not lead to significant disruption.
Having the new house constructed off-site provided Roger and Gilly with the optimum solution. With more than 90% of the Tirlaggan Úr build carried out in The Wee House Company’s manufacturing facility in Ayrshire, work on site was condensed into just 5 weeks.
Roger and Gilly were presented with the keys to their new home on April 4th and are enjoying furnishing it. We look forward to sharing more photos of this Wee House when it has been fully furnished and photographed professionally.
